ENVIRONMENTAL LAW
Environmental Law Practice
Wong Fleming’s environmental group routinely counsels and represents companies of all sizes, including multi-national oil companies, in government enforcement actions and private suits due to ground and water contamination. We have helped negotiate UST cleanups and have counseled clients on a wide range of environmental statutes including the Clean Air and Clean Water Acts, Safe Drinking Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Toxic Substance Control Act, National Environmental Policy Act and the Oil Pollution Act. We have handled matters involving allegations of contamination by methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE) and other volatile organic compounds (VOC).
Our experience includes litigation relating to contaminants (which can include welding fumes, adhesives, pesticides, epoxies, oil spills, commercial lubricants such as tetrachloroethylene (PCE), cleaning agents such as trichloroethylene (TCE), lead paint, formaldehyde, gasoline, and gasoline additives). The firm has experience in cleanup litigation and can assist your company in suits with private citizens, the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Agency, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and other governmental agencies to cover costs to remediate a site and to address on-site and off-site contamination.
Wong Fleming attorneys are thoroughly familiar with the documentation of commercial loans, and with the science and terminology of environmental litigation. Our attorneys hold undergraduate degrees in Chemistry and can steer your company’s real estate interests through the various types of contamination issues.
