Troy Priest is the Partner-In-Charge of the Firm’s Washington, D.C. office of Wong Fleming, a Partner in the Baltimore office, He is Co-Chair of the Trial, Insurance Defense and Coverage Practice Group and the Products Liability and Mass Tort Litigation Practice Group.  Mr. Priest concentrates his practice primarily in products and premises liability defense, general liability, mass tort litigation, insurance defense, and medical malpractice. Mr. Priest also represents claims against security professionals and law enforcement officers. Mr. Priest practices in the specialty field of food and beverage law.  Lastly, Mr. Priest has extensive experience investigating claims, rendering coverage opinions, and litigating coverage issues.

Mr. Priest has extensive experience litigating wrongful death and severe or catastrophic personal injury or property loss.  He also has extensive experience managing complex litigation matters. He has led the defense of complex litigation in a wide range of tort, insurance, and products liability disputes. He has also been retained during the pre-litigation claims stage to assist and direct investigations, participate in examinations under oath and appraisals, and to provide counsel and analysis with respect to the early resolution of claims.

Mr. Priest has served corporate and institutional clients across a diverse array of industries, including, the representation of clients at numerous jury trials.  He serves clients regionally and nationally through the Firm’s Washington, D.C. and Baltimore offices.  Mr. Priest serves as Vice President of the National Minority Law Group and is a member of the NAMWOLF Insurance Initiative Committee.

Prior to joining Wong Fleming, Mr. Priest was a Partner with two leading Mid Atlantic Regional Law Firms. Mr. Priest began his law career as a Law Clerk for The Honorable Annice M. Wagner, Chief Judge, District of Columbia, Court of Appeals.

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS
  • Litigated mass tort matters for both Fortune 500 and developing companies.
  • Defended wrongful death, false arrest, false imprisonment, assault, battery, malicious prosecution, excessive force, qualified immunity, and §1983 claims on behalf of private security firms and law enforcement agencies.
  • Defended wrongful death claims for corporate and institutional clients.
  • Defended complex and high exposure tort and insurance claims as lead counsel.
  • Defended and managed products liability and mass-toxic tort claims for manufacturers and distributors of consumer and industrial products, as well as, pharmaceutical and medical devices.
  • Handled both first-party and third-party insurance coverage analysis and disputes.
  • Litigated food and beverage law matters.
  • Defended a major fast food franchise in premises liability and food and beverage safety claims.
  • Defended retail malls in premises liability, slip and falls, and failure to warn cases.
  • Defended wrongful death claims for corporate and institutional clients.
  • As lead defense counsel, defended complex and high exposure tort and insurance claims.
  • Defended a third-party insured in several general liability, medical malpractice, premises liability, products liability, and insurance defense claims.
