Wong Fleming, P.C. Welcomes Ian Clement to the Firm

Wong Fleming welcomes Ian Clement to the firm as an associate attorney.  Mr. Clement’s practice focuses on employment litigation and commercial litigation in state and federal courts. Mr. Clement received his undergraduate degree from Old Dominion University in 1994.  He subsequently received his Juris Doctorate from Southern Methodist University – Dedman School of Law in 1997.  While attending SMU, Mr. Clement won a Best Petitioner’s Brief Award at the Frederick Douglas Moot Court Competition.  He also served as a law clerk for the law firm of White, Hill, Simms, and Wiggins, LLP.  Additionally, Mr. Clement served as an intern for the Securities and Exchange Commission, and as a student attorney for the SMU Tax Clinic.  He also served as Vice-President of the Black Law Student’s Association.

Before joining Wong Fleming, Mr. Clement concentrated his practice in criminal litigation.  He previously served as a Special Deputy Attorney General/Assistant Prosecutor with the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office where he handled felony and capital appeals before the Superior Court and the federal District Court of New Jersey.  Most recently, Mr. Clement served as a Deputy Attorney General with the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice in the Casino Prosecutions Bureau as a trial attorney, where he prosecuted a variety of criminal matters including fraud, conspiracy, computer crimes, casino cheating cases, money laundering, and violations of the Racketeering, Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).

Mr. Clement is licensed to practice in the State of New York and the State of New Jersey.  He is an active member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, and a former member and office holder with the National Black Prosecutor’s Association.
