Shahzad Qadri Named To Lawyers Of Color’s 2014 Hot List Early- to Mid-Career Minority Attorneys in the Western Region

ShazadQadri1rShahzad Qadri, Partner at Wong Fleming, has been named to Lawyers of Color’s Second Annual Hot List, which recognizes early- to mid-career minority attorneys working as in-house counsel, government attorneys, and law firm associates and partners. Wong Fleming is very pleased to have Mr. Qadri named to this exceptional group.

Honorees will be profiled in Lawyers Of Color’s Hot List 2014 Issue (July 2014). The Western Region honorees will also be feted at a reception hosted by Morgan Lewis on July 23rd.

Shahzad Qadri is a Partner in the Firm’s Bellevue, Washington office of Wong Fleming and Chair of the Immigration Law practice group. He concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate transactions including securities issues, private offerings, IPOS, as well as business and immigration law, with a focus on investment based EB-5 Regional Centers.

Prior to joining Wong Fleming, Mr. Qadri served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the King County Prosecutors’ office in Seattle, Washington.

Mr. Qadri has the distinct honor of being named as a “rising star” in the legal profession by Law & Politics. In addition, Mr. Qadri was nominated as a fellow to the Washington Leadership Institute. Mr. Qadri was also awarded the John Gilmore (2014) award for excellence in Advocacy for Minority Businesses by the National Minority Supplier Diversity Council (NW Mountain Council)

Mr. Qadri is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the King County Bar Association, The American Immigration Lawyers Association and National Association of Minority & Women Owned Law firms.  He serves on the Board of Directors of the National Minority Supplier Diversity Council (NW Mountain Council) , and the Refugee Women’s Alliance and has served on the Board of Trustees of the Young Lawyers Division, King County Bar Association and on the Board of Directors for the South Asian Bar Association. In addition, Mr. Qadri is the Chair of the World Education Foundation, is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Practice Section of the Washington State Bar Association

The honorees were chosen through a two-pronged process. The selection committee spent months reviewing nominations and researching bar association publications and legal blogs in order to identify promising candidates. Nominations from mentors, peers, and colleagues were accepted. The selection committee also made editorial picks of attorneys who had noteworthy accomplishments, especially those active in legal pipeline initiatives.
